Dharma Tunes Volume 1 is a landmark publication in Malaysian Buddhism.
For the first time, music notation for piano comes together with
lyrics and guitar chords in a single volume of work. Dharma Tunes
Volume 1 contains thirty-three Buddhist songs, ranging from timeless
classics like “Wheel of Life” and “Why?” to the latest compositions
such as “Sunshine of My Life” and “My Destiny”. The book contains
the inspirational work of Bro. Tan Huat Chye of the Wayfarers, Bro.
Daniel Yeo of D-Kidz, Bro. Daniel Kwok of i.gemz and many more. We
gratefully acknowledge each of the composers who have gave their
kind permission for the publication of their work.
MISSION
To
promote and popularize Buddhist music, which is inspired by the
Buddha’s teachings, with the aim of making Buddhist singing into a
culture within every Buddhist community.

The initial printing of 1,000 copies have been distributed to

VOLUME 1 LAUNCH EVENT
Dharma Tunes Volume 1
was officially launched on 31st August 2008, at Maha Karuna Buddhist
Society, in commemoration of the 2nd anniversary of the passing away
of the Venerable Dr. K Sri Dhammananda, the late Chief High Priest
of Malaysia and Singapore. The launch will was officiated by
Venerable B. Sri Saranankara Nayaka Maha Thera, Adhikarana Sangha
Nayaka, one of the most senior monks in Malaysian Buddhism. It was a
most memorable event, with performances by Maha Karuna Buddhist
Society Sunday School, Bro. Tan Huat Chye, i.gemz and others. Chief
Ven. even sang a Buddhist song from his childhood days. The launch
